Live Lecture by Rabbi Anson Laytner
Rabbi Anson Laytner is President of the Sino-Judaic Institute and longtime editor of its journal Points East. Before retiring, he served as Program Manager of the Interreligious Initiative at Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry and also as Director of the Jewish Federation's Community Relations Council, among other positions. His career in nonprofit and academic settings focused on fostering positive interfaith and interethnic relations. He is the author of Arguing with God (1977), co-author of The Animals' Lawsuit Against Humanity (2005), and co-editor of The Chinese Jews of Kaifeng (2017). His most recent work is The Mystery of Suffering and the Meaning of God: Autobiographical and Theological Reflections (2019), a study of god-concepts and the meaning of suffering.
